Hello Fresh Grocery Kit Delivery

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone had use Hello Fresh before... http://www.hellofresh.co.uk/

Met some guys at a show over the weekend who were signing people up and thought it looked pretty cool, but didn't take the plunge. They basically send out all the pre measured locally-sourced ingredients for a recipe (along with the recipe card) so you can cook up a decent meal really quickly after work etc.

Anyone got any experience with it? I'm not sure who their target market is but they seem to be doing pretty well, sending out 25,000 meals per week!

You reckon? £4.90 for a meal of locally sourced ingredients with recipe and all measured out without me needing to go to the supermarket - doesn't seem too bad considering it's nearly a 5er for a KFC these days.

And their site says you don't need to be in, you just specify a safe place (porch/behind bins/neighbour/local shop/etc) and they'll leave it there - it doesn't need to be signed for.

Ha! I'm sure most people would rather eat this than a ready meal though!

If it tempts people that would otherwise rely on ready meals and takeaways into fresh ingredients and real food then I'm all for it.

I realy like the sound of that to be honest. Nothing like fresh local produce and for less than the cost of a mixed kebab you cant go wrong.

Similar idea to one from a few years back at London train stations - can't remember the name of the company but the logo was grey and green IIRC. They had two or three menus per day and you could buy a meal for 1 or 2 people. You got a bag with the recipe card and all of the ingrediants pre measured in it. Nice idea but it didn't last and all the kiosks closed down.

£4.90? I just priced up a 3 meal box and it was £39 for two people. Bonkers. Especially as they use cheap bits of meat. Gammon, Tilapia and Chicken Thighs can be had for pence.
