Yesterday whilst out doing some shopping, and avoid all the pissed Santas I decided to pop to Soho Pizzera for a pizza, but it wasn't the there so rather the trudge about went in Byron which was there in it's place.... and wow had a lovely burger cooked medium rare, courgette fries, and fries all washed down with a pint of their table beer..... was one of the nicest burgers I've had out, even though it was really busy due to xmas shoppers.

chatting with our server apparently part of a chain of about 30 odd restaurants..... surprised me, but maybe I should get out more.

Well I enjoyed it - circa £20 for two burgers, trimmings n beverages.... gets a thumbup from me

Very nice burgers in there... There are a smattering of them all over London (2 in soho)

Next time try the macaroni cheese. Delicious!

Try their milkshakes, they're epic and incredibly filling.

I absolutely love Byron Burger. The courgette fries with their spicy BBQ sauce are immense.
Easily the best burgers I've ever had.

Byron are good but if your in Soho again and fancy pizza/pasta than Malleti on Noel St is very good. Normally offer 4/5 different pizza's and you pay by the slice or three different portions of pasta. Take away only but Soho Sq is quite nice to sit down in if the weather is ok.

Usually have a Byron burger before movie; very tasty, quickish and not eye-wateringly expensive.

Better than the imitators and in a lot of cases better than those that they imitate!

It doesn't.

5 Guys is more a slightly posher and twice the price McDonalds or Burger King.

Its like chalk and cheese.

Byron you get served a nice thick juicy patty, cooked medium, served in a slightly sweet brioche bun with a decent choice of cheese's, proper bacon and other salad etc delivered to your table and looking relatively appealing.

5 Guys is a bit more of a basic affair where you hang around for your burger to be prepared before finding a seat. When it appears it's all wrapped up in some struggling to be grease proof paper. Upon opening your met with some soggy brioche bun dripping with grease, gopping american cheese and a thin slither of cremated canadian style streaky bacon hanging out the side. The patty is about a third of the thickness of Byron's but they do give you two of them and both served well done.

The only thing they are similar on is a burger, fries and drink costs about the same price.

Chris is pretty honest chap on reviewing stuff, not a shock reviewer to get column inches, its his hobby.

I like Byron. Staff are well trained and informed, the burgers decent, the beer list brilliant and it isn't too crazy expensive for a quick central London scran.

Not the trendiest of the London burger scene nowadays, that crown lies with either Burger and Lobster or Patty and Bun but, by far the most consistent.

Byron is OK. Try Patty & Bun or Tommis. Some people also rate Meatliquor.

Meatliquor is like the Abercrombie/Hollister of the burger joint world though, it's so loud and dark in there that its really not a nice eating experience despite them having nice cocktails and food

I don't rate ML, but a lot of people do.

Byron burger just doesn't do it for me. I feel that a certain level of fat should be present in a burger to give it that authentic taste. The meat is just too lean imo and portions are rather small too.

ATM my current favourite burger is shake shack. Yet to try meatliquor.

MeatLiquor is a lot better than Shake shack but tries way too hard to be cool.
