I have a subscription to http://www.hasbean.co.uk/ and they send me a different pack of beans every month, a couple have been merely pretty good but the rest have been very good to fantastic.
However it's backing up a bit at the moment with the last couple of months unopened so far as I've been a way a bit and have recently become a bit of a tea snob as well and started on decent loose leaf teas.

We're not coffee snobs but do like a nice cup.
We were in Texas earlier this year and stumbled across this stuff.
It's simply wonderful, to the extent that once a year we get a full supply shipped over from the US to Dubai and it's our weekend morning treat.

I'd also suggest that a Porlex tall hand grinder, an Aeropress with a stainless steel filter (to replace the paper filters) and a thermometer will make a huge difference to your coffee drinking enjoyment for not a huge amount of money.

Interesting, I have a bean to cup machine and have been trying out some of Costco's offerings recently.
Normally buy Brian Wogan "Riposo" beans at £11/kg from Bristol which are superb.
I've tried Costco's Costa Rican blend at about £7.50/kg but neither I nor the machine really got on with them. Very, very oily and small beans which seemed to upset the machine. Limited depth of flavour.
Currently trying the Costco "Espresso Blend" beans at about £8/kg which are really growing on me. Not quite as good as Riposo but create a really good thick crema and lovely deep taste. They also seem to pack them a lot tighter than Brian Wogan, not sure how it affects anything as the weights are the same but the Costco ones go for a lot longer!! ???

I had a pack of that as a leaving present from a job a few years back, unusual taste but nice. The sky high price is due to the limited supply rather it's quality though and while it's good I've had better.hole:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civet_coffee

Is there much advantage to the stainless filter on the Aeropress? Mine came with about 2000 paper filters which cost next to nothing and don't seem to leave any taste so long as you rinse them through first.
The idea is that the paper filters sieve out a lot of the oils in the coffee, the oils give it a rounder, smoother flavour.Also using the inverted brewing method with an aeropress gets better results in my opinion too. Have a look on youtube, there ate loads of how to videos.
Try a Trung Nguyen Vietnamese coffee made in a phin with sweetened condensed milk.
