Does Champagne go off??

I know it's a basic question but I have a bottle of Lanson Black Label hanging around that is a good few years old that would fit nicely with some starters I am doing for Christmas.

I really don't want to bump someone off over Christmas so I turn to you guys for advise

You will know as soon as you taste it! Last New Years eve we poured 8 bottles away but enjoyed another 14. Get a bottle or 2 in for reserve just in case.

Was it stored properly in a dark.cool place?...makes a big difference as to how it would have survived.

Champagne does eventually go off and become undrinkable. I suspect it becomes undrinkable long before it becomes dangerous.
