Car / Travel mug Is Contigo best

Yeah, I have a Contigo somewhere. Did a fair bit of research before purchasing. Worth the extra cost.

A timely thread, I've also been considering buying one of these.

The Randolph has caught my eye, I like having a handle on my travel mug.

They are the ones - I got a Contigo mug after killing £72 worth of heated seat switch with coffee (twice)
The only downside is how long it takes to rinse the lid fully.

I actually have three Contigo mugs
1 original style one (West Loop) - which I use for coffee
1 Randolf style I treated myself for black tea - far easier to clean, but not as easy to drink from
1 Morgan - for the car as my cup holders are European sized and won't take the above two. TBH the plastic ones are not worth it as they seriously radiate heat where as the other two I own will keep a hot (note not boiling) drink at a good temperature for a good 3.5-4 hours.

I'm happy to recommend them and have to friends.

Mine is a Primus, not as expensive as Contigo but works really well.

They're ace. Never leak. Costly but paid for many times by taking my morming brew from home to campus.

I've the west loop and its been in use for a year, my only complaint is that it works too well in keeping coffee hot. I also have a plastic bodum mug and that works well at half the cost though more fiddly than the contigo

I got into the habit of adding a bit of cold liquid, so I could start drinking hot drinks almost immediately.

Agreed. Efficiency akin to a thermos. Not ideal when you want to drink your beverage on the way to work, or in the first meeting/lecture of the day.

I just leave the lid off for a while, while I get dressed and ready to leave...

Better than it going cold fast anyhow.

A friend and I got a black contigo each in our first year of Uni. They were on offer at £19 each. Mine got nicked which I was annoyed about but he uses his every day still.

Cleaning the lid is a little laborious and they tend to adopt the flavour of the first drink you put in there. It is also worth noting that it can hold the taste of detergent if you soak the lid.

The best solution is to never leave it full.

Buy one (or two and give one to a mate) as they are the best.
