Some help/advice required please! Had my moka pot for a few years now using it on electric hobs with no real issues. Now I have a gas hob I'm really struggling with it. The pot is probably too small for the smallest burner as the flames lick around it rather than properly on the bottom but I don't need a bigger pot.

So far I've got about a 25% success rate! the rest of the time the pot simmers away producing steam but without enough pressure to actually make any coffee. I'm sure someone else must have had a similar issue at some point so any pointers gratefully accepted!

Edit: of course I mean a moka pot. Bloody NYD caffeine shortage...

Cheap and works well when the flames lap the sides!

I use a grill rack from the oven to sit across the gas hob. This the. Allows you to position the pot on the burner such that the flames are right underneath the pot.

This has the added benefit that the pot has a flat surface to sit on rather than be delicately balanced on the hob itself.
