I figured I'd give it a go for burns night, and while tasty I couldn't get the get the oats properly crunchy. Tried twice one lot dry fried, and one lot grilled. Any tips? Or should I juts use granola instead?

Oven baked.

Spread them out on a baking tray and bake on low heat until they go golden brown.

If you use Granola it wouldnt be cranachan that you were making.

My Mum mixes the oats with brown sugar, before grilling them.

A valid point, well made biggrin

I'll have a go at oven baking next time, although I can see the point of the wok too as it'd be easier to shake them around without losing them than a frying pan.
