Online wine providers/clubs/societies

Where do people get their 'cooking'/weekday wine as it were? Not stuff to put down for the next generation but decent wine that you can just pop down and pick up a bottle?

Wine Society, Laithwaites, Virgin, Naked, Spectator wine, any others?

Anybody have any experience of the above, good points or bad would be very welcome.

My parents have always used the sunday times wine club. They get a box of 12 wines sent out every 3 months for their membership and can buy as much or less more as they require. They have been members for years and never even had a delivery problem.

Virgin since December haven't had a bad bottle yet v impressed.

The one that stands apart from others on that list is The Wine Society...

I had a few from Laithwaites and Virgin when I first got into wine, but became very obvious that they have a "formula" in terms of the wines they offer and how they promote them. Nothing fundamentally wrong with the wines, and not a bad source of reliable quaffers.

However, in addition to daily drinkers, TWS also offer some seriously high end bottles (and offer storage) but don't engage in all of the silly and incessant "exclusives" that some of the others do (being cynical, are they exclusive because they're REALLY that good, or to stop price comparison?).

For cooking/midweek we get through a fair few of TWS's own label wines which really are very good value.
