We have all seen the 'copycat' recipes being banded round the internet. Have any of you ever attempted to cook it?

Not tried making it but it is the sauce of the gods for chips when you've had a few too many.

In my extensive experience, the gravy varies per "restaurant" anyway.

That's genuinely the crappest thing to copy.

Sure does, I had a carton in my local KFC and even tipping it upside down would not release it

I can't see the appeal personally. I had some with one of those box meals the other day and it was tasteless gloop. Not impressed at all.

Most rave about it but i'm not that impressed.

Might me a recipe in the 'Takeaway Secret' book.

Prefer BBQ sauce myself.

Nothing wrong with a bit of KFC gravy. When you make your own you'll notice that you're not deviating too far from one of the 'mother' sauces of classic French cookery, -the Velouté.

It's basically reduced stock thickened with a decent roux. You can add a few flavourings along the way, -the Wagamama katsu curry sauce is not too different bar the addition of a few spices.

I always have coleslaw. However, I WOULD like to know the secret ingredients in Le Relais de Venise L'Entrecote's green steak sauce.

i love kfc gravy and the beans, those and a few hot wings and i am a happy bunny. not keen on the normal chicken pieces though. very bland and pretty much tasteless after you get past the often soggy coating.

It's hit and miss. Sometimes it's made with the chicken drippings (when it's at its best) IMO.

Other times it's just granulated and not so tasty.

Never tried making it but I do enjoy it from time to time.

I had this a couple of weeks ago and took it back. Disgusting you would've had to scoop it on to your chips.

I checked the first and second Takeaway Secret books and can't spot it in either - I would imagine it would be something like:

1. Take one chicken stock cube
2. Mix with PVA glue

I do like it though frown
