Recentley for soem unknown reason I really haven't had much energy to cook anything fancy and don't want to have a take away so we have been having more jacket pots, cheese and beans with a bit of salad.

So what is your go to food when you can't really be bothered to cook and don't want a take away? Need some more insparation so we don't buy the shop out of pots! biggrin

Either a bastardised risotto/paella type thing with anything chucked in (onions, chorizo, sweetcorn, peppers, broccoli etc) and a tin of toms, or pasta bake with similar, but a cheese sauce as well and perhaps a tin of tuna added too.

Either of these can be rustled up in under 30 mins and the ingredients can be whatever you have in the fridge, hence they are popular.

Leftovers on egg noodles. Doesn't matter what's in the tub, Bolognese, Chilli, stir fry meat and veg... It all gets heated up and I pop in one of those 4 minute boil up egg noodles things. Quick, easy and lazy.

Tuna fried up with some greens (kale, runner beans, peas whatever is to hand) and onions. Relatively quick and hot. Throw some hot sauce on and serve.

Pasta (usually fusili), tin of sweetcorn, pesto, grated cheddar. All things we usually have in abundance and takes a grand total of 10 minutes to prepare.

Usually have some filled pasta (ravioli/tortolini/etc) in the freezer as an alternative.

Beans on toast with some decent cheddar grated over the top is surprisingly nice too, reintroduced myself to it some time back after 15 years of not being a student.

Something and chips.

I normally have chicken nuggets, fishfingers, breaded fish fillets etc in the freezer for the kids. Oven chips and baked beans.

Or I always have pasta and tinned toms in the larder so that with whatever else i can find

No really: shop bought tortolini and pasta sauce, takes 2 minutes and very little to clear up afterward

Love a good breakfast fry up but egg and beans doesn't seem right to me at any other time of day biggrin

Forgot to also include bread and cheese, our local co-op sells pretty good baguettes, which coupled with a good supply of brie or camembert is hard to beat.

I've also been know to stop and grab a pizza on the way home if the Mrs is out and I can't be bothered cooking for one. the Sainsburys finest ham, mushroom and mascarpone is fantastic.

I can't conceive of a situation where I'd have left over mashed potatoes. I've even tried cooking extra so I'd have some to make parathas the following day...still didn't have any left over.

I have no idea how this should be spelt I have only ever had it from street stalls in Thailand with no menus.
Left over rice fried with garlic add whatever you want veg or left over meat then stir in some oyster sauce (make sure its good Oyster and fish sauce don't be buying that Blue Dragon crap) and fish sauce.
For that authentic Thai touch fry an egg (crispy on the bottom) and stick it on the top.
