Its easier to just smoke using a dry pay, either wood chips or tea leaves or whatever, then a second pan with your food placed on top and the whole lot covered in foil. Like a covered bain-marie.

No - To properly cold smoke food takes a matter of hours and in many cases days, not minutes. A toy like this puffs a bit of smoke into the air so you smell smoke but has no material effect on the flavor of the food.

I wouldn't buy one myself. Apparently they add quite a stung unnatural flavour with one of the reviews I read saying that it made the food taste like it had been on a bonfire hehe

this is the perfect product for those cheesy late night infomercials.

"newwww..... from polyscience comes the latest in taste technology...... the ssssmoking gun.

its handy size means it will take up next to no room in the back of the cupboard with the rest of that crap you bought over the years, you might have to move the rap-tu onto the breadmaker but dont worry.....the compact design of the smoking gun means you will easyly find the space"

We use one in the restaurant. It does not "smoke" per say, but does impart a smoked flavour to much stuff. IT works very well with liquids as well smile smoked vodka jelly being one of our favourites.
We used to use it for a smoked prawn cocktail, it worked very nicely.
