Jailhouse Chiili - with a twist

Tomorrow - I'm making the much loved 'Jailhouse Chilli' however I'll be using Dr Pepper instead of beer.

I've heard of using coffee and chocolate and saw a bottle of Brains Dark reviewed as displaying hints of the same so now add this.

I've used Young's chocolate stout in my Jailhouse ere now, but Dr Pepper would be a bridge too far. The sweetness for one thing.

I use Dr Pepper while slow cooking pulled pork shoulder, but you drain it off before adding the bbq sauce. Adds a nice flavour, but I wouldn't be tempted to leave it in the sauce, guessing it'd be too sweet.
