Tyrkisk Peber sweets

Bought some of these...



Liquorice flavour boiled sweets with a salmiak paste centre (salty liquorice, popular in Scandinavia and the Netherlands). Flavoured with ammonium chloride. Absolutely delicious and very moreish!

Anyone else like unusual sweets?

You must have 'unique' taste buds.

I bought some for the office in Helsinki Airport and no-one would eat them. I quite like unusual flavours, but even I couldn't finish a whole one. Vile, just vile.

I prefer the "Hot and Sour" flavour they make (light blue packet). They also make (although very hard to find, even in Finland) a packet of crushed Tyrkisk Peber, to put on top of ice cream ... it's fantastic!

Smash some up and dissolve in Vodka to make "Små Grå".

Nice work Bobbo. I have looked on the bay for it in the past but it's never been on there. I might stock up, it's a damn sight cheaper than a flight to Helsinki is!

I've previously found the actual sweets on sale in the UK in Cybercandy from time to time, including the hot and sour ones.

I have a couple of durian flavour boiled sweets kicking around somewhere.

Used to eat these when I worked for Nokia and travelled to Helsinki, Oulu and Turku.
I started hating them, but got used to them.

Weeeeeeird; where can these be bought from? Would love to try, I'm usually a big fan of aniseed/liquorice things.
