I ordered a mixed grill but it came partially cooked and on a hot stone so that you can finish it how you like.

So I've got a piece of chicken and a piece of pork, both basically raw (outside cooked only). And one set of cutlery to cook then eat it all with.

Doesn't sound particularly safe to me? How can you possibly cut up raw chicken then eat a steak with the same knife / from the same plate?

No idea, but just in case you later die of supermegachickenaids as a result, I wouldn't bother leaving your camera to anyone in your will.

I was going to leave you the camera.... if you don't want it I'll give it to someone else no worries. You'd have had to take the £3000 computer its attached to as well but no big deal wink

That's a complete joke. I share your concern!

So you've got bits of pork that have been through a commercial mincer, a battery chicken breast, whatever else and a set of cutlery?

How the fk can they ensure that you're going to cook it through and render it safe to eat?

Okay do it with a seared steak but with this sort of product - never!

Oh, no sausage? But pork still? And chicken?

Ridiculous.

Its still not really helping the issue of everything being cooked on one thing is it?

I had a plate of chips, I just moved the steak onto the top of that once it was cooked enough for me.

Poor show really - it was an Italian restaurant rather than a Portuguese one, so I didn't expect the stupid stone thing to cook it myself. And I didn't expect a side order of chips either.

It's worrying that a pub or restaurant or wherever the hell you were actually think that serving a half cooked unseasoned lump of cheap meat on a stupid piece of stone that comes as part of a kit would actually impress their customers.

Worryingly, and I don't mean you KFC, it does.

there is a restaurant here in Austria that does this, sometimes with Turkey steaks too..bloody tasty.

That said, they did tell us how to cook it ( if white meat)cut into pieces, make sure each side gets some time on the stone and the piece is white throughout)), and with Steak, it comes raw with a card on how long to cook according to how you like it. around 2/3 mins on each side for a medium rare!

We go there quite often!

This wasn't a pub selling food on the side - it was a restaurant, in a prime location of town and seemingly big/busy. It looks nice and has an awesome view as well.

I definitely wouldn't have ordered it had I known - its nothing more than a cheap novelty... I'd rather have my food leave the kitchen ready to eat smile

In France it's called a pirade or something. Don't worry, you'll only die from it if you're a massive bender. At least they cooked the outside of the meat for you.

All sorts of potential problems with that. Really not a fan of the idea anyway, just a lazy way of getting food out and making the person paying responsible.

+1

I order steak at a restaurant because a) I like steak b) I'm not very good in the kitchen c) generally I'm hungry for stuffing dead things into my mouth, not mithering over a bit of hot rock trying to do the guy in the kitchen's job for him.

Regardless of whether you like to finish your own food at the table, the chicken should have been cooked through before it went out. Unforgivable.
