Butter

Just had a late breakfast and noticed that the butter wrapper has the V symbol and states 'suitable for vegetarians'.

How is this?

Butter is very much an animal product and definitely not a vegetable.

(It's also effin delicious spread thickly on home-made toasted bread).

Good point, however, just checked a box of eggs in the fridge and there's no vegetarian logo on them and no chickens died.

Checked a bottle of milk too and no claims of veggie credentials on there either.

Thats because the vegetarian green V symbol is voluntary and not law

Eggs and milk are generally pure products that you know the contents of, maybe they add other animal fats into some brands of butter??
