ive had a big 6 burner outback for 10 years outside and its still going strong.

I've gone through about 4 covers but the metalwork is still good and it always ignites first time with no agro

no doubt the weber snobs won't agree but to be honest i don't see any value in spending twice as much when the build quality of outback is good

Broil King. We have the Sovereign 90. Not cheap, but a great piece of kit. Big enough to use indirect heat (1 or two burners on and the food sits over a burner that isn't); the rotisserie chicken kit is a lot more useful than you'd think; and the burners can get very, very hot, or you can get the heat down very low.

I've just placed an order for a weber e-210 after a lot of research. 25 year guarantee and they really are well made. I own a weber kettle one too and its still going strong 12 years later, living outside with no cover.

Have to say though that this one looked very well made when I had a play around with it:

I have a webber E-310 which is a year old. Excellent gas grill that lived outside and is in perfect condition even after being completely buried in snow for a couple of weeks. I do have the cover though which makes a difference

After always being a charcoal guy I'm now sold on getting a gas one myself, those lava rocks mean you get the same flavour! I've been looking at outback 4 burners and they look good.

Lots of people saying b&q's own brand are very good too but are a bit of faff to build.

Solid as a rock, equal or better than Weber in my view.

We have a John Lewis one, very happy with it. It lives outside and has done for almost 5 years now and it's still as solid/rust free as the day we got it.

Another Outback here - Maestro 6 burner. Had it 10 years and still does the biz. Sparking mechanism has failed but I light it with a match, no bother. Just cleaned it up and put it in to use the weekend just gone. Had it 10 years now, been outside all that time and is nowhere near needing replacement. Just about to order first replacement cover (should have done this a few years ago to be frank).

5 yrs old, very nicely made, looks good and the customer service from CADAC is top notch. I recently had all the enamel cooking surfaces replaced FoC after 4 1/2 yrs due to some corrosion.

Another vote for CADAC kit here - FiL has a couple of their products down in SA, and they really do seem to last; I'd buy one myself if I was ever in the market for a gas braai (BBQ).

Next day delivery and well packaged. The fittings and powder coating look very robust and it went together very easily. A well designed bit of kit. I used it for the first time a couple of days ago and it did a great job.

I bought a piece of crap a couple of years ago, we had a Weber in a villa we had last summer.

'Buy cheap, buy twice' has never applied so hard.

Worst bit is going to be disposing of a greasy rusty BBQ with the local council tip Nazis.

I bought one of these last year.

Utterley brilliant. Quality is outstanding and I love little things like the handle stays cold even when the grill is at 550!

It cost more than my wifes car lol, but I use it more than I use the wifes car, so why not.

Every single piece is replaceable, and I expect it to last years.

We have a Weber Q220 and are really happy with it. It's great for the two of us. If I were looking for something bigger, I'd definitely look at the Swiss Grill at Costco.
