Mother in law bought us an Bodega Spanish ham joint and I'm watching a you tube video on how to carve it. What should I do with it after that?

Thanks top tip Sherman. I think that you're actually quite right, I thought there would be lots of recipes etc but I'm just going to enjoy it as and with some good red wine

You want a long length bladed knife thats very sharp, and has a 'slim' blade.
Cut the ham as thin as you can.
Enjoy with a cold beer.

How long could you expect to keep one of these once it has been cut into? Always fancied one but thought it would go rancid before we were very far through.

I kept mine in a cool part of the kitchen with a bit of muslin over it. Sometimes you had to slice off a bit of green but it lasted me at least 6 maybe even 8 weeks.

Store it properly, and it will last a while.
Cool place, out of direct sunlight, and put the cutoff outer flesh back on top, then cover with clingfilm or similar.

Doesn't keep well in the fridge for anything except short periods, and even then it needs to be left to get up to room temperature.
