Pretty much as per title, I have been given a leg of Venison to cook for dinner tomorrow. It will just be in place of the usual Sunday roast, so come on PHers give me your best most simple recipe for cooking this lean bit of meat with out drying it out or cremating it.

Thanks in advance.

Ps nothing to hard as I am having trouble steaming rice tonight!

Personally I would do it overnight in a slow cooker, like a brisket, with onion, carrots and celery.

If a young deer, yearling or less, then I would roast like a good cut of beef. If older then slow cook as per mutton.

Not sure how old it is, as it was shot out of a bathroom window last week. Slow cooker sounds good, don't have one though, plus these recipes definitely need to be simple, as I was having issues with under cooked rice and then next time I checked it was over done.

At least the shooter remembered to tell his parents he was taking a deer out at 06:00 in the morning this time, instead of them being awakened by a .308 rifle round going off!!
