Home water cooler

I work in an office with a water cooler, which is plumbed into the mains water. Lovely cold water.

We use tons of water at home, mainly from one litre bottles and it seems such a waste, especially as a lot of the bottles hardly get used and then thrown (mainly the children). We probably buy at least 20 litre bottles of water a week, even more when its hot like this

does anyone know of a decent cooler that can be used at home and can easily be plumbed in to the mains water?

I have seen coolers from Costco that cool the water but you still need to buy 15 litre bottles to go into the cooler - looking for something to do away with that.

Can you just not have an ice maker in a fridge and brita integrated water tap?

I have a fridge freezer that does ice and cold water - Its great.

Before i had that i just used to leave a couple of 2L bottles in the fridge. Always had cold water.

How hard can it be ?

We took the cheap option years ago and it works great. Can't cope with a summer party though and that's whan bags of ice from the supermarket come into play.

This. We couldn't plumb ours in easily so it is unplumbed with a reservoir of 3.5L, this supplies the cold water feed and the ice-cube and crushed ice supplies.

Excellent, I've been thinking of getting one for my home office.

What are you doing drinking water at a summer party though !?!?!?

I'm confused, why would it be getting thrown away? Drink what you want then put it back in the fridge, not like its going to go out of date or spoil or something

I live in a hot climate, I just have a few plastic bottles full and top them up as required, and keep them in the fridge. Off to have a nice pint of ice cold ribena now

You only need to buy one bottle. Just keep refilling it from the tap.

Genuinely not being facetious, but why not just drink tap water? Ours runs very cold in seconds and it's quicker to fill a jug from that than it is from the chiller in the fridge (which never gets used).
