Waterloo / Southwark eateries
Discussion
My son recently started work in Hatfields SE1. Meeting him for lunch next week. Being 18, his normal fare is Subway/McDs/Kebab. Want to go to a proper restaurant, that's got quick service and decent food at a reasonable lunchtime cost (£10-£12 a head.) He also likes pizza so a proper Italian would do.
Any recommendations please.

I know it's late but Vapiano (Southwark Street around the corner from the Tate Modern) does excellent pizza and good pasta for reasonable prices.
If you stray a bit further south, the Elephant and Castle Pub did decent Thai food until recently (yes, really, although it has re-branded recently so the Thai may be no more), and there is a fantastic (and cheap) Polish canteen and reasonable Colombian place in the Elephant shopping centre.
The chippy on Waterloo Road by the Old Vic is also pretty good (they offer a selection of fresh fried fish as well as battered) and, if it's late, Capital Kebabs on The Cut is great.
