Stumbled across this on twitter last week and am now hooked! It's basically amazing. Tastes as good , if not better, than a pizza and takes about 5 minutes to make and cook.

heat pan, chuck tortilla in pan, cover with cheese and tinned chopped toms, put another tortilla on top, flip, cover top with cheese, more tomato and all ya favourite pizza stuff, put under grill. Boom.

One tip - dry fry it. No oil or it will be soggy. Enjoy!

Try pasata rather than tinned tomatoes, a bit of peperoni wouldn't go amiss in that

I'm trying that. looks ace.

WTF can't Americans just say grill rather than 'broiler' though

its a total winner. I did one last night with cheddar, chicken breast and tomato in the middle, then flip it and put mozarella and salami and chopped basil on top. Pizza heaven.

Nice..

What I occasionally do is more of a chilli lasagnedilla - layer up the tortillas, like the pasta sheets with chilli con carne, cheese, and maybe more onion, peppers and chillis then stick it in the oven until its all melted.

I do them in the BBQ on a pizza stone and tend to use a mix of tomato paste and pesto rosso as a base smile

Because for them, a grill is something that heats from underneath, like a BBQ or charcoal grill. We just use one word to describe both, because English.

Oh my word. I was planning on scoffing the extra portion of chilli that I froze the other night with a jacket potato and some cheese one night when the mrs is out, but now I need to pick up some tortillas.

If you are feeling expansive, pick up an iceberg lettuce. Big bowl, shredded lettuce, temperature-hot chilli, big load of nacho chips, and an unhealthy amount of grated cheese all mixed up together. Excellent stodge biggrin

Inedible.

I used tomato puree on top with mozarella and chicken. It was all looking so delicious and and I was getting excited about this new food discovery that seemed so simple and promised so much. Well after a spell in the dry pan to crisp up the base I transferred it under the grill to warm the top. This was my fatal flaw. After about 3 minutes I pulled it out to check on progress and all the exposed tomato puree that wasn't covered in slabs of mozarella had turned black. The disappointment was crushing.
Thankfully I also had a rack of ribs on the go (as a side) and they became the main.

Fold them over... and squish down the edges... and wait for everything to melt inside!

I thought I'd give this a shot over the weekend.

Apart from having to leave it under the grill for ages (as I forgot how long my grill takes to heat up) it was a simple, quick & awesome meal - I'll definitely be doing this regularly!

Do people tend to put stuff other than a tomato sauce & cheese in the middle, as well as on top? wouldn't that make it a bit bumpy and uneven?

personally I think a stuffed middle, in the style of the original quesadilla, is what makes this tastier than a normal pizza. I think it's best if you cram the middle with tomato, cheese and your favourite meats
