Christmas gifts

I spent today making pale and onion spiced chutney for Christmas presents.

I also have made pickled onions using a couple of different brines (one wet one dry) and a couple of different recipes, one sweet one chilli.

Decided to make homemade gifts this year and it's our first time doing so. We are really enjoying it and hope to god they work!

Has anyone got any other special things they like to make as gifts?

We made hampers last year as my partner's family is large. Planning started in the summer with piles of jam using berries collected from hedgerows.

Also included was:
- a tomato chutney (Grandad Ron grows more tomatoes than the entire family can consume, so we had something of a glut of them)
- an alcoholic 'jam' made with vodka and fruits through the seasons (you just keep adding a layer of fruit, sugar and vodka)
- flavoured vodkas (various coloured skittles vodka) for the younger members of the family
- Dukka
Closer to Christmas we made a huge batch of chocolate truffles and dark chocolate orange biscotti.

We threw in a few other small personal items we had made like cheesy Christmas music mix CDs, handmade decorations and cards.

The whole lot cost us barely anything as most of the ingredients were free and went down a storm.

We'll be doing similar this year Any additional inspiration is VERY welcome, so will probably be stealing the onion chutney.

Might add I bought some lovely Milner jars from ikea at just 80p each! Much cheaper than anywhere else.
