"Family friendly" pub chain Hungry Horse has been criticised for creating a burger containing 98% of a woman's recommended daily calorie intake - 1,996 calories.

The Double Donut burger consists of two beef burgers topped with cheese, four bacon rashers and BBQ sauce, sandwiched between two glazed ring-doughnuts.



I would have posted it in the dirty takeaway thread but it's not a takeaway. So whos going to be the first to try it?

I'm always amazed at the amount of cals packed in to Restaurant food, now that it's shown on the menu it certainly makes you think

I've been in a hungry horse twice both times for breakfast which was dirty enough I won't be going back to try this but good luck to anyone brave enough to try it. Report back and take photos.

It doesn't look that big for near 2000 calories.

Good promotion by the BBC. I'm sure more people that wouldn't go near a Hungry Horse will now be desperate to try it..

Been to a HH pub a few times now,but 2000 cals is nothing... as mentioned in the article,my usual,the Man v Burrito, is 3500 tasty calories

I also doubt the quality will be anywhere near that of Reds.

better to make one yourself. it will happen. despite the hungry horse being 5 minutes from my house. yep, that's the sort of area i live in...

anyway, i think you're supposed to split the donut and have the middles facing out, rather than a donut on each end.

I don't think anyone would be going into this thinking it was anything less than a massive amount of calories would they? If they did, they shouldn't be out buying things with money.

Don't see the problem.

1) I can't imagine that tasting nice, but assuming you fancied it anyway...
2) It's fine if you don't eat anything or are a gym regular.

I'd happily try it if it had a normal bun around it.

The sort of women who complain about it have fk all knowledge about how to not be the fat bints that they are.

I haven't tried the Bungry Horse one, but the ratios look wrong to me.

I have tried this one - it was very tasty, but messy. I'd recommend anyone to try one, but I probably wouldn't have another.

I ordered one yesterday.

This is what arrived:



You will notice the distinct lack of glazed donuts, and it was dry and bland.

I've complained and received a voucher for 50% off my next food bill should I ever return.
