So me and a few work mates are planning on going out for a beer & a burger after work. A few of us mentioned Red Dog Saloon to take on 'The Devastator' challenge but one of the chaps has been there previously and wasn't impressed by the other food on offer. He didn't go for the burger challenge when he visited. So just wondering if anyone could recommend a decent burger place in london from first hand experience.

Cheers!

Depends where you are headed in London, but my pick of the bunch:

Dirtyburger- Oval, Shoreditch, Kentish Town (my favourite)

Lucky Chip- At the Sebright Arms Bethnal Green (my second choice)

Honest Burger- Quite a few locations

Patty and Bun- Soho and Liverpool Street

Loads of others but you can't go wrong with any of those really...

Meat Liquor or Meat Mission are my favorites for the burger itself. Really nice meat, wonderfully cooked.

Red Dog - the meat is no where near as good - but overall taste is good, with the bun and other fillings - a different type of burger

Shake Shack - stingy on the meat, however, I still really like it - especially with the cheesy fries. My 2nd choice after Meat Liquor/Mission.

The chelsea ram, SW10 ... don't tell anyone, much better than the "chains".

Honest burger gets my vote.
Too many 'gastro' burger joints serve burgers where the meat is too good and they can end up dry. The best burger has a balance between quality meat and tasty, succulent, dripping fat !!!
All served in the obligatory brioche bun !
