Approved Foods

While most PHers are buying Waitrose finest or Fortnum and Masons food, on the other end of the scale of us poorer folk, has anyone tried or have experience of Approved foods? I'm interested to see if it is worth looking at for reducing the cost of dried foods.

Yes I saw them on TV the other night & was interested.

Think you're OK as long as you stick to the dried/tinned/jar stuff and don't go off piste too far!

That said, I had a 3 week out of date unopened youghurt the other day with no ill effects!

2 months out of date is my record on a yoghurt, it was fine and my sister was about to bin it!

I did chicken which was a week out of date, marinated for another week and was fine. Sasuages are good for weeks after their sell by as well.

Approved Foods gets good reviews on other more frugal groups. Sometimes in the past their delivery was a bit hit and miss. I don't buy much processed foods so have never managed to find enough to order to make it worth the postage.
