Iceland treats to eat
Discussion
Obviously as a powerfully built PH member i wouldn't normally set foot in the place but i was drawn by their offer of Ostrich burgers.
What's more they also had Kangaroo, Crocodile, Wild boar and Venison.
Not tried them yet but they were very good value and look nice enough.
Has anyone else had a dabble?

We put on an event at work for the general public and promised a 'buffet of hot food' What's more they also had Kangaroo, Crocodile, Wild boar and Venison.

local cafe let us down so the local iceland platters and Kerry 'crackhead' Katona's offer of a £5 party seemed like the only option.
What. a. Mistake.
'chicken' wings, kebabs on a stick and various other questionable oily meat treats. We cooked them in the office and those that didn't feel sick after eating it got sick from the smell that we couldn't clear for nearly a week.
That is the only experience i've had of Iceland and it was enough to ensure i never set foot inside the place again.

Here goes ;-)
My Lidl at the weekend not only had Wild Boar, Ostrich and Kangaroo; it also had Moose Leg steaks, very tasty indeed.
You're kidding?!My Lidl at the weekend not only had Wild Boar, Ostrich and Kangaroo; it also had Moose Leg steaks, very tasty indeed.
Whats moose like? I'd love me a bit of moose! how did you cook it? How was it?
Pan-fried the steak to just below "rare" - Added back mushrooms & Onions, flambeed with brandy then added double cream. Served with french fried garlic potatoes. came out a rare side of medium. Do not overcook as it is like a Michelin (tyre not restaurant!)
and there was me thinking of Icelandic treats from the country, not the bloomin shop
had this booked for 40th Birthday to visit for a week, which included a jeep safari over the glaciers..... unfortunately came down with ear infection, sore throat and the sweats, doctor wouldn't let me fly
