Around Southwark/Lambeth/Kennington/London Bridge. I know of Basilico but never thought it was actually that good. I'm talking about thin bases and good quality toppings - nothing spectacular, but at least the sort of thing you might get in Pizza Express.

Is there anywhere?

Funny enough we were only talking about Basilico earlier today (after a disastrous pizza lunch in Kent) - I used to love their Roma when we lived up there. Can't help with other suggestions I'm afraid.

Franco Manca; lots of outlets, think they deliver from some.

Ive recently started working back at canary wharf and stumbled across this place by chance one day.

They have a few branches around.

Its a proper takeaway place, mopeds lined up outside, but they have a couple of seats inside.

All the pizza dough is span and rolled fresh for each order, and they do pizza by the yard. Its all made in a fire clay oven, not a conveyer belt.

Proper good pizza too, on par with ZIZI id say.

Thanks for the suggestions all. Tried Firezza (which I'd forgotten about and does look great) but they weren't taking any orders because they were too busy. Seems pretty stupid.

Had to go back to Basilico and I was actually pleasantly surprised. Pizza was better than I remember and reasonably priced.

Franco Manca looks (and sounds) excellent. The nearest one to me doesn't deliver though.

That's a shame, shows how good it must be though!

Do try again

They also have an app, might be worth checking out if you can order in advance

I'm a stone's throw from the Basilico on Tower Bridge Road and that's been very good every time we've used it. I'll be honest though, I like a dirty pizza from Papa John's so haven't had a Basilico for a while.
