Cooking a rib eye steak on the bone.
Discussion
Hi all,
I have this cracking big rib eye on the bone to cook. Dug it out of the freezer to cheer me up - uni exams this week! The other side has not been faced off, and it's very well aged!

I'm not sure how best to cook it though, haven't cooked a steak this big on the bone for a long time, and don't want to waste it - a rare treat for me!
What would you recommend? It's 400g.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Salt, sear quickly on all sides in a very hot pan. In the oven at 50C for about an hour or 2. Rest for around 45 minutes and then finish with butter.
In the absence of probes and baths etc etc this sounds like the best plan.Edited by krallicious on Monday 11th May 11:50
