Seafront restaurant in or near Southend

I will be in Southend in a couple of weeks time and I'm looking for a really nice restaurant in or near Southend overlooking the sea with a great view. Any suggestions? Meal budget isn't a problem just needs to be a very nice place with a view

I would recommend trying the Roslin Hotel - always been good when I've been there and is right on the front. Alternative would be Ocean Beach but can't vouch for the food - might be worth checking Tripadvisor.

Roslin is nice, I have also had a nice meal in Toulouse.

Roslin is good I have stayed there for work but only ate in the restaurant once as it was over my daily budget. It does get very busy and seems to be full of Ladies who lunch.

I would advance book anywhere you choose, they are all quite popular.

Do you need sea views? Of those mentioned only the outside deck at Roslin has. Bourgee hasn't at all and Toulouse is behind sea wall. Food at all places is good. If you are slightly outside southend then old leigh scores well for seafront pubs but you'd want the tide to be in.

Actually on the beach are Ocean Beach and just up from that Hundreds. Both are ok but not great for food.

All places will be rammed when sunny so suggest you start lunch at midday!

I don't live in Southend but have friends there and travel there every few months. Ate in Bourgee over Christmas break and it was superb but no sea view.

Went to Ocean Beach a few weeks ago and it is literally on the beach. The food was quite good, service was excellent and the price was reasonable. I had a lovely evening there but a lot of that was down to who I was with.
