Hi,

I'm after a small favour - does anyone have access to the Coeliac UK Food Directory?

If so what does it say about the standard Kellogg's cereals - rice crispies, cornflakes, crunchy nut etc?

I've seen comments online that the gluten content is lower than 20ppm and approved by them - can anyone confirm this?

Thanks.

I'll have to check with Mrs Mercs at a more sociable hour but from what I remember her saying, the brands like Kellogs have gone all cautious and slapped ''may contain'' on everything just in case - just like the ''made in a factory handling nuts''. She did buy them up until a couple of years ago but mainly seems to buy some of the supermarket own brands which haven't gone down that route yet.
Which supermarkets do you normally frequent - and what's your preference for type of cereal ?

Checked my work allergens database and Kellogs show gluten in all products but that may just be covering their backsides as their ingredients list doesn't state it.

All a bit inconclusive I'm afraid!

My other half I believe is a member - but would have to check with her.

I was with her however at a Dietician appointment a few months ago who said to avoid Kellogg's due to the way they were made/refined/manufactured.

She did however say that supermarket own brand were fine - i.e. Sainsburys Corn Flakes are ok.

Nestle also do GF Corn Flakes which i'm told are very good.
