Man food - puds?

I'm packing the wife and kids off and a few friends are coming for some sea kayaking and possibly climbing. Main course is bbq leg of lamb served in pittas with salsa etc while sat outside round the fire.

But what pud to serve? Ideally eaten by hand and hopefully cooked on a fire.

I'd got as far as damper filled with jam. The fire bit is least important.

Yorkshire pudding. Onion gravy. Sausages optional. Before or after the main course, of course. Men don't go mad for the sweet stuff. Not until the manopause.

Could do worse than a tear and share Cinnabun type affair? They don't have to be the sickly sweet versions like tesco, plenty recipes online and easy to knock up?

Oops, just clocked the fire bit, but you could take it with you and warm it on the fire!

Plenty of apples around at the moment - how about apple pie?

Get some banana, chocolate buttons and tin foil.

Leave the skin on the bananas but split them on the inside of the bend; through the skin on the inside but not the outside. Insert as many buttons as you can.
Wrap individually in tin foil and place on BBQ/fire.
Leave whist you drink.
Eat with spoon from skin.

We always do it at Le Mans

a mate of mine made this, but with thin sliced mars bars instead of buttons (more manly?)

it tasted ok, but by Christ it looks grim, a black banana with a gooey brown mush inside - looks exactly like you found a banana forgotten in the back of your car after two weeks of summer

edit: how about stockbrot (german for stick bread)

make bread dough, wrap it in a spiral round a green stick, cook over the fire, eat

some tate and lyle ginger loaf cake.
go fancy if you want but there's no need.

chuck in a pot on the barbie with some tins of rice pudding. ambrosia is best.

mash that dirty we together.

serve in a mug with a spoon.

its dirty and stodgy, but bloody lovely.
