My brother had a blender on his Christmas list. I haven't a clue on these things, but this one is on offer. Has anyone got one and is it any good? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Search/searchTerm/42...

Did you get this?
Mrs P is nagging me to pop out and get one. They're still available from Argos for under £40.

I did, I'm seeing my brother tomorrow so will see if he has used it yet. Looked good quality.

should be good, I have a nutribullet which appears to be a little less powerful, and its pretty good. I also have a vitamix blender and the gap between the two is not as much as the price differential would suggest. For that price, grab one!

Just got back from the shop with one in the boot. Will be putting it to use in the morning.

Very impressive, especially considering it's supposed to be "lite".

I'm not sure what I was expecting but it really did blend to a fine texture in a very short time - only a few seconds. I didn't want it too smooth so didn't leave it as long as suggested (45 seconds for most recipes) but even for only 15 seconds produced an impressive result. Made short work of ice cubes and carrots, and of course the much softer fruits and veg.

Just a heads-up; a mate of mine raved about his Nutribullet and the Nutri Ninja seems to be the current favourite in the reviews I've found. You can get the 900W one for £50 - less than the cost of the 600W Nutribullet at Homebase (of all places!) currently:

http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/nutri-ninj...

When I went and picked it up in-store they knocked another 15% off as well so got it for under £43!

I'm about to have a hunt - do we have a 'share your extractor recipes' thread running somewhere...?

I've had a Ninja for almost a year. Got it for a rough time I was having health wise. Its a cracking way of getting your 5 a day. Great orange juice, simply peel the orange add a splash of water maybe a couple of cubes of ice and blitz.

I try to get my fruit and veggies from a market, you get better value for money and looks don't matter when you blend, had orange banana and raspberry smoothie for breakfast this week, tomorrow orange, banana and pineapple

If you use it to blitz soup make sur e the liquid is cold before you blend as there is no vent.

Ours has been used daily to make smoothies for the family. Fantastic gadget and when the blades eventually dull, the Lite is cheap enough to just buy another without breaking the bank. (Although I think replacement bits are available.)
