Good places to eat off the A1?

Doing a road trip from Manchester to Colchester to pick up some wheels tomorrow. Will involve M62 and then A1 south. Any PHers know of a decent pub that does a good Sunday lunch anywhere along the A1 which doesn't involve a massive detour?

I used to stay here regularly and enjoyed it- very close to the A1.
