Cream cheese frosting - alternatives?

Making a carrot cake birthday cake in a couple of weeks and although we like cream cheese frosting as it is so much lighter, will be celebrating with someone who can't eat cheese (it doesn't agree with him).
It will be a Lego cake, so will be decorating with fondant design etc. My thoughts are orange buttercream, the obvious advantage being straight buttercream supports the fondant much better IMO. However, was just wondering whether anyone has any thoughts as to a cream cheese substitute for future use with allergy recipients?
