Boozy brunches - London?

Not sure how PH this is but according to the OH, unlimited prosecco brunches is a thing. Her London friends keep going to them at, I think, Plateau Canada Square and I've decided to book a day trip including the brunch.

I guess my question is, are there any better alternatives out there? Also, we'd be coming into Euston from Manchester quite early and not sure if it's a bit of mission to Canada Square, so more central suggestions welcome. Saying that, if there's any suggestions of things to do that way on, I'm open to it as don't really want to cover the usual touristy stuff anyway and nothing planned. Did try to get in at Duck and Waffle but no joy.

This one seems to be a reasonable price, is the restaurant fairly smart?

Smart casual I'd say. Nice food

- Avenue is a regular restaurant at Taste of London festival, if that makes any difference. Same league as Duck and Waffle. I had the buttermilk chicken when I went, it's one of the specialties. Would recommend!

Ive been to a few Boozy brunches in London, however this one was by far the best:

Its within the InterContinental at Hyde park.

I think Plateau is over rated personally.

Good views if you're sat by the window, nice cocktails...but the food isn't the best. It's not bad...just slightly disappointing.

Yes, IC is very good for brunch. Not that I go there anymore since they screwed me over a Congestion Charge issue last time I stayed there!!

Cheers for the suggestion, ended up booking this one after a bit more research. Think the buffet style at this one might suit us better although is a little later than I intended to eat.


Don't suppose anyone has any suggestion on how to waste a couple of hours around this area?

Totally agree.

Canary Wharf is fine if you've never been, but coming down from Manchester I wouldn't bother.

Various of the nicer hotels do lunches - my other half rates the Mandarin. Unlimited Prosecco I don't know about, but unlimited booze usually means poor quality or a price that many won't get value out of.

Personally I'd focus on the food bit first. Good food places will do decent booze. Then head of to a bar all afternoon.
