Weekend retreat required in Norfolk

Looking to spend a romantic weekend away with my wife in Norfolk, preferably by the coast. Want a really nice inn or hotel, serving great food and magnificent beer with comfy accommodation.Somewhere to unwind. We are going in Feb so roaring log fires are also a prerequisite. Any recommendations?

I stayed at the Black Lion in Little Walsingham earlier in the year which is a great little Inn. Ticks all of your boxes except it's not right on the coast; highly recommend it if not a deal breaker.

Have a look at The Pigs in Egdefield. I've been plenty of times for grub and stayed there in August for 3 nights, it's a great spot.

You should also have a look at The Orange Tree in Thornham and the Wiveton Bell too. Not stayed at either but the food at both is consistently very good.

The windmill at Cley always gets good reviews, and it has great views over the marshes.

The Lifeboat at Thornham does great food.

The Crown at Wells is good, as is the Red Lion at Stiffkey.

I haven't been for a couple of years but always used to enjoy The White Horse @ Brancaster Staith.

Pack your walking boots, it's right on the coast path.

The Windmill at Cley is where I had my 30th. It's a great location (and owned by James Blount's family) but the food is a little ordinary

some excellent ideas, thanks. We like pubs with great ale, log fires and big dogs. The sort of place you can spend the afternoon and read the Sunday papers/drink beer/eat after a good walk on the beach.

Amazing art, food and setting. Knocks the socks of most things on the nn coast.

You're guaranteed some dogs (great big hairy ones) in the bar @ The Hoste Arms Burnham Market.

+1 for this if you want 'fancy' IMO. I went a couple of years back. Food very good but the then limited menu irked me somewhat.

I'd be half tempted to do the Victoria to get a bit more atmosphere.

I've encountered a few great big hairy dogs in the assorted backstreet boozers in Luton. I have no idea why anyone would seek them out
