Dammit, just booked tickets to the theater on next Sunday afternoon and have now realised its the weekend of the marathon. I was planning on driving in for around 10am and catching some early lunch, going to the performance (2.30 lion king) and then grabbing some dinner.

How disrupted and busy will town be? Will it be gridlocked?
Also any suggestions for a good quick lunch bite (burger, steak or the like.)

Keep your driving north east of the Strand area and I'll doubt you'll notice the marathon but don't forget all the roadworks and general "lets fk London traffic up" schemes that are going on at the moment plus normal Sunday traffic which can be slow at the best of times.

When I went in on Marathon sunday a couple of years ago I found it quite quiet once you got within 1/2 mile or so of the route / river as the normal traffic is not travelling north / south.
