If we leave the European Union, do we loose the rediculous menu for a coffee. To me there are two types excluding sugar/sweetener
1 black
2 white
I was looked at like I had two heads when I asked for a white coffee, I ended up with an Americano with a pretentious little pot of milk I had to add myself grrrr

It's coffee white or black sir or I'm out!!!

The sheer audacity of someone assuming you might want to add your own milk so you get it right. People who get wound up in coffee shops are the worst, away to Greggs and let the machine make the coffeeish drink if it bothers you that much.

Its when I ask for a "Large black coffee" and they ask if I want space left for milk that gets me. Or when I ask for a "Large black coffee" and they ask me, "Would that be a grande americano sir?" You know what I mean, stop being pretentious!

But (assuming you're in a Starbucks) it's on the menu as an Americano. So why not just ask for it as it is named?

The thing about these moans is that chain coffee shops aren't exactly a new thing, people know how they work. The moaners are just being obstinate.

I bet they go into McD's and get huffy when they can't just order a burger and chips laugh.

Or perhaps a large filter coffee?

The one that bugs me is when they do standard, large and extra large. Surely that's small, medium and large biggrin

And when I go into Starbucks or Costa, I just ask for a white filter coffee (you don't have to have an espresso based coffee!).

Years ago we went to the Michael Caines @ Abode restaurant in Manchester for lunch. Dinner that day was a large donner with chips late in the evening after several beers. One extreme to the other biggrin
