I don't often eat them as I prefer to cook, however the girlfriend is on nights this week so I've bought a few from M&S. The pasta ones I've had so far are the usual fair, if not unpleasant, however I've just had had the M&S Piri Piri Chicken Curry and it was bloody tasty. Don't get me wrong, I can cook up a very good curry, but by the time you've gone to all the trouble and expense it's simply not worth it for one. This was tasty, the right amount of heat, plenty of spice and loads of chicken. Pretty good value really.

Are there any other hidden gems from fridge to plate in 4 minutes?

Some of the more expensive M&S ones are great. There's a king prawn linguine that goes down very well. There are also 'taste' ones that have dishees from all over the place.

As someone who worked for them for over three years I think I ate every ready meal they did.

Tesco crab and chilli linguine is a really good one.

Never had microwave meals, but have been very impressed by Lidl oven stuff. Peri Peri chicken is always excellent, and twice the size of the one we used to get in the Co-op. Their Hunters chicken is better and cheaper than Tesco's.

Anything from COOK is good on the whole but not the cheapest, wouldn't buy things like fish pie any more, as Lidl's 3 fish bake is far better.

M&S high protein meals are generally good, think they are called count on us or something similar.

Morrisons have also started selling these meals called "Pure" usually high in fibre or protein. had a few they aren't bad at all.

I find M&S are pretty much the best that are widely available.

That's not surprising though given how they are £976,304.99 each.

I know its a dirty word around here but there is a huge one next to my work.

Asda have a good selection of proper fresh microwave pouches and meals, lots of fresh and crisp spinach, cherry toms, mange toot, etc in them

The range varies from king prawn and chilli linguine, to Thai curry’s, to Jerk Chicken.

Why don't you make a 'big pot' of curry, chilli etc., eat some & freeze the rest in single portions for later consumption. Much better than shop-bought 'ready meals'. yes

Charlie Bigham (Waitrose and others) are pretty good. I like their Spanish chicken and the chicken tikka.

Heston chilli con carne (Waitrose) is good, if a little mild, but easily rectified.

I find it very rare to get a decent ready meal. I detest the tedium of cooking and washing up, so I usually make cold food, but sometimes fancy something a bit different.

The last ready meal I had was a Co-op Jalfrezi. It was awful. Too much heat and not enough flavour.

I usually find the best ones are the Thai curries.

Tesco do a chicken and butternut squash pie that is actually for toddlers, but it's really tasty.

As mentioned above, the ones from Cook are very good, if expensive. Their curries are lovely. Their naans are also much nicer than the usual rubbish supermarket ones.

Agreed, we don't have ready meals too often, but if we do then this range is our go to. I don't recall having a bad one yet.
