Kitchenaid mixer warranty? Others?
Discussion
My 4 year old (cheap-ish) grundig stand mixer has packed up, need a proper solid mixer that can cope with regular dough kneeding. Once or twice a week I suppose.
Looking at kitchenaid but from what I can tell it's a 2 year warranty which seems a bit s
t for a £400 mixer! Could buy cheap again and just replace when it goes pop. But like the idea of getting something that'll last a long time.
Are the kitchen aid jobbies that good or just paying for the "retro" look?
Ta!

Go for the glass bowl as well.
Just out of interest, why?Ours is used a lot and hasn't had an issue yet, lots of dough mixing etc. must be 5 years old. Only thing is I can never quite get that turn screw adjusted correctly that stops it knocking up a quarter of an inch when kneading heavy dough.

Gives you good visibility to the mix and any remaining ingredients at the bottom of the bowl. It has a lovely weight about it and I use it as a normal mixing bowl as well.Ours is used a lot and hasn't had an issue yet, lots of dough mixing etc. must be 5 years old. Hi All,
Thank you very much for the responses! Lots of useful info.
I've done some more digging around, GBBO replaced all their KA mixers with Kenwood KMIX... which apparently caused a bit of a stir! (no pun intended)
The KA's are the "gold standard" for all home bakers apparently, but from reading more the KMIX is a better machine. (500w motor v 325 for a start, which when dealing with bread dough will make a big difference in longevity of the motor).
I'm liking the look of the KMIX now actually.
