Bright, friendly place for lunch, Surrey / Sussex?

Hi, I'm looking for somewhere for a family lunch next Sunday (4th June 2017). Would love to find somewhere a bit new and quirky, within, say, 30 miles of Crawley / Gatwick.

However the group includes a 90 year old with poor eyesight, so no dingy basements or dark wood panelling! Ideally just somewhere bright and friendly for a mid-priced meal (up to £50 each?)

Any ideas?

It's in Fletching, but shouldn't take too long from Gatwick/Crawley area. One of my favourite Pubs but you'll need to book. Let us know how you get on.

If in the area I'd go for the Stephan Langton in Friday Street every time for top notch pub grub with a Mediterranean flavour. I think it's the best in the area by a considerable margin.

Parking close by is a bit restricted (there's a large car park about 400 metres away) but if you call and explain that you have a 90 year-old accompanying I'm sure they'll reserve you a spot outside.
