Going here for dinner tonight. It's from the company who have Burger & Lobster and Goodman in London. Looking forward to it. Hope it's as good as Hawksmoor. They're up here for a few weeks and each week hosts a different cut of beef.

You should be pleasantly surprised. I had a great meal at Zelman's, particularly the slow-cooked short rib (I decided against 'just' getting a steak).

ETA - Just noticed that there's 'only' steak on your menu. I'm sure it will be grand.

That's the going rate for decent steak nowadays. I'm lucky enough to be getting 50% industry discount tonight anyway.

Zelman is superb - real meat experts. As above, shame about the rib not being on the menu. Enjoy!

The rib WAS on the menu but I didn't go for it unfortunately. Was still one of the best steaks I've had though.

I think we will try get there before they close, just out of hospital yesterday so this weeks a write off

Next week's steak is chateaubriand although it's £9 per 100g!

£20/kg is the going rate from the butcher.
So their 600g is £12, + £36 markup.
