What do I need to get similar decorations to this cake?

I don't know what the different types of icing sugar are but I guess I'll need one that's quite firm, and just standard food colouring?

If you go to somewhere like hobby craft you will find that they sell blocks of coloured icing that you can make 'models' from like plasterscine, or you can roll it out with a rolling pin and cut shapes out of.

You may have a cake decorating shop (search for sugar craft supplies) locally which could explain what products you need and how to use them. My wife started decorating elaborate cakes for our children and was helped by a local shop.

Make sure it doesn't dry out otherwise it will be hard to work with

You can also use sculpting chocolate to make the decorations
