Off to London this weekend, staying near the Tower of London, planning to visit the imperial war meuseum and the Tate Morden, before a show need a recommendation for dinner for 2, in the area.

Something a bit different, not spicy and not Italian,

Pont de la Tour etc. On the other side of the bridge. Never had a bad meal there.

Shame you haven't been Cotty, superb summer hangout. £3.95 for their "Club" lager and decent food at good prices.

Do you mean Tom's Kitchen and Deli Bar? Or do you actually mean HMS Belfast?

Yes, but it's pub/bar chain food. OP wants something different.

Could do worse than Aqua in The Shard - decent food and great views. Ditto Darwin Brasserie at The Sky Garden - which is also on the same side of the river as the Tower.

You may conclude the views are better than the food but my (limited) experiences have been good!

Also, things are looking up at the end of the Northern Line if the Tate have moved in!

The more expensive the food the worse the view.

It's about 3 floors above where I am currently sat.

There's also the new Ivy outpost right by the south side of the Bridge. No idea what it's like. Hasn't been open long.

Presuming you're not looking for any of the chains? There are just about every one you can think of within spitting distance of the Bridge - More London, SKD, etc.

The Ivy branch is good. Had a meal there in its opening week.

Also, you are only 5 mins away from Borough Market where there are many options.

Hixter - Devonshire Sq or Bankside are both good for steak.

Around Tower of London you also have Bodeans if you want BBQ food
