Do you ?
Which variety do you favour.
It is a couple of times a year thing for me, I get the urge, remember when they first came out, late seventies, was a whirl of Abba on the radio Technic Lego and the occasional Chicken and Mushroom Pot Noodle, having one now for lunch.
Chicken and Mushroom, Beef and Tomato is Ok, Chow Mein is a bit strange, Bombay Bad Boy is better than the normal Curry one but have to be int he mood.
Remember Pot Ride, properly strange.
Does the sachet actually serve a purpose, I have forgotten to put it in and not noticed a difference ?
I remember doing one in our new Microwave aged about 11, I put it in as wasnt quite warm enough and nailed it for three minutes, it was certainly warm enough when it came out, and the heat had caused the microwaves internal top bit to sag alarmingly.
Then there was the time the ketchup sachet split and looked like a scene from Dexter, just as my mum walked in, she assumed it was blood and panicked a bit
Ok, they are s
t and the bloke at work who eats one for lunch every single day alarms me a bit (Bombay Bad Boy with extra chilli) but they do serve a purpose and are a bit of an institution and a guilty pleasure.

Chicken and Mushroom - Mrs
Curry x2 - Kids
Beef and Tomato - Me
I've never liked the curry and the chow mein ones much, Beef and Tomato followed by Bombay Bad Boy, then Chicken and Mushroom for me.
All of them need more sauce than the sachet gives you, but thats not hard to overcome given they'll all be in the cupboard anyway.
I've always quite liked them tbh.

I quite like them for a quick or late night snack, don't eat them too often though as the salt levels must be awful. Also worth a try for much cheaper are the asian noodles that come in pots, kind of like what Cathay Pacific serve you in the middle of the night over Siberia.
Any I digress, I like the Chicken and Mushroom, Curry, Beef and Tomato and the light blue Sweet and Sour one (that one seems much harder to get hold of!)
Any tried the Kebab flavoured one? That is too much for even me

Camping kit emergency standby - something hot that can be prepared in a few minutes when soaked to the skin after a hike/fall into a bog/capsize the canoe/walking through clouds while up mountains.
I haven't tried one whilst indoors for years! They always seem to taste quite good in the above scenarios though

Pot Rice was a regular hangover recovery for me during Uni in the late 90s. Always preferred those to Pot Noodle.
The other week, back late from a meeting, kids fed and in bed, I decided to walk the dog down to the nearby little Tesco and buy something to tide Mrs PB and I over for the night. Pot Noodles were £1, Bachelors Super Noodles were 50p. So, naturally, I went for the latter though I'd never actually tried them before. I was underwhelmed by my BBQ flavour one - should've stumped up the extra for the genuine article methinks - but I found Mrs PB's Chicken one rather tasty, surprisingly.
The most shocking thing was finding out that Mrs PB had never had either in her life!!!! 15+ years together and still learning!

The super noodle ones dont have much flavor, even with the sachet.
My ultimate hangover breakfast is (for two)
Two packets of cheapo 15p Noodles, can of beans and a load of cheese mixed in, do the noodles in a pan, drain the water, tip in the beans and cheese and warm it up until the cheese melts, lash it with tomato sauce and optionally enclose in white bread.
invented when staying at my girlfriends, who lived in a cottage with her brother, her cupboard contained nothing but Tuna, Sesame seeds and other crap, had to raid her brothers stash and snagged the beans and noodles, she had some very old cheese int he fridge and thus this was invented.
Another really guilty pleasure, Pot Noodle and chips, my grandma got me a Pot Noodle once when I was staying there, about 1980 or so, and she didnt think it was enough so lashed it over a big pile of proper chips, done in the chip pan, enjoyed whilst watching Doctor Who (Tom baker, of course), you know those moments from your past when you realise you were probably the happiest you had ever been, well that rates up there
until of course the zenith, when the Ice Cream covered in Orange Flavour Ice Magic arrived.....
Ice Magic, sauce that solidified on Ice Cream, witchcraft back then

Had a supermarket own brand version of Pot Rice the other day (probably Sainsburys but not sure), it said to add hot water and leave to stand for 12 minutes (because Rice, I guess). But I don't remember proper Pot Rice taking that long. Kind of defeats the point.
Much prefer these to Pot Noodles these days:

Took a whole pile of those to Glastonbury this year where I was working in a shipping container that fortunately had electricity so we had a kettle, couldn't leave the shipping container for more than a couple of minutes while the shows were on, so these were a life saver.
