Who buys them?
I remember trying a bit of one when I was a kid but I'm not sure I've ever had one in adulthood. I'm a bit scared of buying a jar full from the supermarket in case I get a funny look at the checkout and I'm also really not sure how the wife will take it?
I pretty much enjoy all things pickled but not sure why I've never embraced the egg.
Own up if it's your dirty pleasure

Make your own if the shame of buying them is too much

Perhaps try quails eggs and use a posh vinegar.
Talking of things pickling does anyone else like/make 'Staffordshire Pickle'?
It's just onion and cucumber sliced up and left in a bowl of brown malt vinegar for a few days to soak. My nan used to make it for the Boxing Day buffet.

A couple of years ago at the Christmas markets in Manchester I had something that called itself a Manchester egg. It's a take on a scotch egg and is a pickled egg coated in a mix of black pudding and sausage meat, then egged, bread crumbed and deep fried.
I'm a fan of pickled things, and although not a regular consumer of pickled eggs in this Manchester guise they were amazing!

I love pickled eggs and sometimes make my own. A friend of mine also loves them so I made her a gift of a good sized jar full and delivered it.
How I laughed as it upended itself and the lid came off in the passenger footwell approaching a roundabout. Never did get rid of that smell...

Pickled egg in a bag of cheese & onion is the stuff. Proper pub snack.
That sounds disgusting*. Ready Salted or even Salt n Vinegar, maybe
I don't like pickles so much, but pickled eggs aren't acidic all the way through like an onion is.
- Cheese and Onion are best for scooping the top off your Guinness with.
