McDonald's Signature
Discussion
I've seen a few "£15 burger" threads and every time I go through Grand Central (Birmingham sadly not New York) I'm amazed how much "burger and chips" can cost.
Just had a "Signature Burger Meal" from McDonalds for £6.49.
I've always thought McDonald's have a bit of an unfairly bad rap just because I do think they're pretty transparent what goes in them and I suspect you could pick up a random McNugget and trace its origins much further than a lot of other places can trace their food but anyway I digress.
£6.49 and really damned good. Can't compare to the £15 burgers but I'd definitely recommend trying one.

It really, really pains me to say this but I had a MaccyD signature burger (hot & spicy) back in October.
it was good. In fact it was heartbreakingly good.
Sometimes you have to admit that $M in R&D actually works.
Burgers and not "art", they are science.
That was the first time in MD in about 4 or 5 years.
I have nailed the spicy sauce so probably wont need to revisit for 18 months!

I'm yet to find the oppportunity to try one. My favourite is always the big tasty, I'd happyly have it year round if they did it year round(which they never will).
i kinda miss the deli sandwiches too, sweet chili chicken deli was a fave.
I like mcdonalds when you just want to stuff out. I have a guilty secret in that I like buying two big tasties and throwing away all that salad and the huge amount of sauce and the top part of the burger bun and just keeping the two big tastie patties back to back with the two bottoms. Then I go to Sainsburys next door and buy some of that crispy bacon on the cool aisle and some cheese slices, which are both far better than the stuff mcdonalds do. Epic meal. And about 3 inches high by the time I have finished making it. only 18000 calories i kinda miss the deli sandwiches too, sweet chili chicken deli was a fave.
The cheap double cheese burger is also an epic small bite at £1.50. So is the saver chicken thing at £1, why people do not stack these up is beyond me rather than getting a legend chicken or such or quarter pound with cheese. Some things at Mcdonalds are not worth the money, some things are. The big Mac? Not worth it, you can get 2 double cheese for that
The strangest thing at Macdonalds is the nuggets. You get 6 for about £3, 9 for about £3.20 and 20 for £3.99. I can only assume they cook the 20 in the Delorean deepfat fryer that hits 188C whilst going back in time for when things were cheap.
And as for the fish they serve, how small is that? That is the fish equivalent of the Big Tasty but in a parallel underwater universe. It's so small someday they will split it in the Large Hadron collider. and it will be the next limited time offer.
Ok rant over. I do like mcdonalds but you do have to pick and choose. It would be nice to replace my current Sevenoaks branch with an In n Out though. Two double doubles with animal fries, er, yes please.

For quick, easily accessible food, Maccies is hard to beat. I'm a fan of the Big Mac though and in fuertaventura I went to a maccies(extremely council I know) and discovered they did an "el grande Big Mac"! Basically a bigger bun with 2, 1/4lb "patties" in place of the smaller ones. God I wish they did those over here!

They used to do a mega mac in Blackpool years ago, it was a Big Mac but using quarter pounder burgers. It was good!

I lived in Prague for a while, McDonalds did a special yearly run of products during their “syrova sezena” which translates to “season of cheese”. amongst these was a burger called ‘The Swiss King’ - a masterpiece! It even had a circular hash brown in the bun. Us expats would message each other the moment they came back.

I thought the mega mac was 4 burgers ? SO two big mac patties then bread, then 2 patties.
Yes, thought the same too. I had one once about 15 years ago - couldn't fit it in my mouth so had to eat it layer by layer top down - was horrible.I love the standard cheeseburger.

Afraid we don’t have any intention to close that restaurant any time soon, and I don’t see In N Out doing many acquisitions in the UK at the moment

d I usually go for two hamburgers, two cheeseburgers, perhaps a box of fries, a couple of chicken burgers...
