I often have a bottle @ the local Italian, love it theirs is a crisp dry white.

However

Picked up a couple of bottles in the supermarket, these defiantly aren't to my taste, too sweet and fruity. I could drink it with pudding, but don't eat much pudding. And already have some Muscat desert wine for Christmas.

So one opened what to cook? Chicken casserole maybe? And what to do with the unopened one?

Chicken it is.

Couple of breasts from the freezer, some lardons, a few wild mushrooms & some yogurt to thicken the sauce. I'll probably serve it with green beans and penne.

Risotto tends to need a fair bit of wine

As for the second bottle, my uncle's village Christmas raffle apparently had the same bottle of wine show up as a prize 3 years running biggrin

Pour it into ice cube bags and freeze it. Use the cubes as/when a recipe calls for white wine.

I've actually bunged the 1/2 bottle in the freezer.

Thinking it'll make a decent base sauce for the inevitable post Christmas turkey and ham pie.
