2013 isn't young. The Amarone process is more to do with the terrible yield per unit fruit and the drying out... it's not that it takes ages it is just very high cost. Also that price isn't especially cheap, as they do something similar in co-op (although maybe not across the country as they are all different across the regions) for £16, and it really is quite good.
Amarone is best drunk after 10 years in my experience and gets better the longer it is kept. Unfortunately I am old enough to know having been a fan for 30 years!
I have some bottles laid down and will be cracking the 1998 (16.5%) one on Christmas day (£65). The quality becomes more port like the longer it is kept - some may prefer it more fruity but I prefer it when it mellows.
