Every Christmas my employer gives each of us a bottle of plonk, a Sainsbury's voucher and a tin of chocs. Nothing fancy, just a nice gesture at this time of year.
Nobody ever comments about the choice of supermarket voucher or the quality of the wine - but the chocs!

Such brand allegiance. You may think Spurs vs Arsenal, Ford vs Toyota or Maggie vs Miners are tense situations.
Then there are the rebels who say we should settle on Celebrations or Heroes to settle it.

Where do you stand?

Every tin of sweets has a hidden foul sweet that no one wants.

None of the given options are safe!

White or chocolate Lindor balls for me.

Christmas = Newberry Fruits. Eat one, remember why you don't buy them the rest of the year, and chuck in bin. Tradition innit.

Off topic - I have the same approach with brussel sprouts.

On topic - other - chocolate covered Brazil nuts. Can’t get enough. Bit like heroin for me. Only it makes me a fat junkie.

I prefer Heroes as an overall package however the Malteasers you get in Celebrations are lovely.

Raffaello, sort of white Ferroro Rocher, normal ones are nice as well. Anything fruity and chewy goes down well, can take or leave Roses and Quality Street, will hoover up all the Bounty Celebrations though.

otherwise, generally prefer savory stuff, nuts and crisps.

Chocolate is chocolate to me I had 3 from a box of Thornton’s last night the better half was umming and arring over the menu trying to decide which 3 to pick. I to her horror picked 3 at random. Now Turkish delight at Christmas is a thing to behold especially dusted in icing sugar.

Got to be 'Terry's Chocolate Orange' for the win.

These are excellent, and widely available from specialists

Seriously cheap too. I buy enough to last me through the year.

I always get given a box of those Guilean? Seahorse thingies, I can scoff large quantities of those in one sitting. Thankfully only once a year.

A part of me dies when I get given heroes.
People know I struggle unwrapping these with my fingers yet they still persist.

That’s a good tip but I’ve only got one working hand. I end up trying to pull it out of the wrapper in my mouth and completely balls it up!

I had this dilemma when buying something for staff at my GP surgeries recently and decided on Quality Street, they've always been the better selection in my mind and O/H agrees. Does anyone remember 'Lucky Numbers'?

Godiva when I can find them, they've been in supermarkets this year.
Or pick a few from a proper choclatier.

Someone brought a tub of Roses in to work. Can't believe how much they have gone downhill. The sweets are now miniscule and the wrappers mean you can't tell what your eating as they are all the same shape. They all taste so bland.

For my Birthday my brother bought me a box of just the Celebrations Malteasers, I was pretty pleased; no idea where he got them though.
